Two items to mention: No instructions for the new style inserts, and you need much shorter handguard bolts if you are running handguards (not supplied in the kit).

Trying to figure this stuff out from their site is difficult.

SICASS Racing flat mount Led's are what I use:

Very bright and easily seen from the side. Been on the bike for more than 3 years. Haven't been able to break or drown them yet.

You can get them with KTM connectors so they are a plug-in connection. I used the old TS hole and drilled 1 other on each side.

SICASS Led's

On the front I now use HDB, so I cut slots in the plastic and moved the front leds to the HDB hand guards.

I did my SAS and canister removal. Everything went fine.
After idling for 20min, everything is fine...nothing to see here folks...move along.

Best thing to do is give them a call. The new model is not shown and they can tell you what to order. The one I got shows as "S04-B07-N07-T150, 0.550/14mm Inside Diameter, $79.99."

Good Luck,

Thanks!

Now a trivia question for you guys...

How do you set the circumference on the 690 all digital speedo?
The books only show how to do it on the Enduro model with the tach.

Must be some closely guarded secret in Austria.

That wasn't the case with mine. The kit came with longer bolts to be used in conjunction with the Cycra handguard hardware. It was super easy.

The instructions that came with mine...

dad2bike - I've never hit neutral while shifting down, but have certainly hit it shifting through to 2nd. I actually adjusted my shifter down one spline today, and that seems to have fixed it. I've occasionally been plagued by the false neutrals in the higher gears. Odd...

I'd say your +20 shifter might have something to do with it. That's pretty substantial... Maybe go up a spline?

Question Ignition switch relocation

Just brought home an 09 690r.
It has the safari tank and an Emig stabilizer. Getting to the ignition key takes either a smart maneuver or miniature fingers.
What are the options for relocating the ignition switch ?

That is not the "new" style. This is the new one:

The handguard bolts only thread into the first 1" of the outer end.

Cheers,

I'm getting rather good at using both index fingers. Quick once you get used to it.

when it's cold outside and going from neutral to shift into first at 1500-1700 rpm's how does your tranny feel? Smooth or a little ruff?

Well figured it out, Idle was just a little to high, now my sweet potato is smooth as can be

Hmm, not sure if I noticed.
Another development:

I decided to ditch the previous owners oils and put in my own with new filters.
I found that the PO was running scotts filters. Really tough to get out. Apparently too tough for him. This was what I found for the small filter.

The oil was clean. I thought it was rather thin. Even thinner than the T-6 I use.
Oils changed and fresh filters in. I'll get out for a spin tomorrow to see how she shifts.
