A quick question. Your Buds seem to always take pictures of your Gen 1 KLR crashing. What's the deal ? Was the bike not up to the challenge?

I ask because I have a narcoleptic KLR and may not want to take it to Colorado/ Utah if it's gonna hurt me.
He did provide for a bunch of picture taking opportunities! For the record, I was only one or two drops behind him, mine were just very low speed.

I dont make excuses, but this is only the 2nd trip for me to ride anything like this. The older KLR's are tall and mine is raised an inch over stock too. The new gens are balanced and handle so nice compared to the others but it really makes no difference. I was given the name Evilbollweevil for the way I ride... "when in doubt, gas on it" and usually do. Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose. If I dont make it through at least it throws me clear of the wreckage. I also am not shutter happy when others crash their units. My brothers may disagree but I feel like bike and rider are capable of just about anything we set our minds or throttles too... Weave said to me... "son... tattoos are for pussies that dont have scars" I dont have tats ;) I also try not to ever turn around and he'll tell u that too. I might run a little different tire, I had 705 Shinkos and they really did fine @ 15-18 psi but I might run a trials or knobby tire just to see next time.

Take it and ride it, we're only here for a little while. Dress for the crash not the ride... enjoy!

Well, maybe not in total, but is it really a crash if you drop the bike cause you can't touch the ground with your feet and you are only doing one or two miles an hour?

Time for a poll now that the dust is settled. What bike would you take the next trip to Coloroda? DavidQ and Weeve excluded(seems to have already figured that one out)!

Exactly my thoughts, a drop is a drop and a unassin is a unassin which I really only did 2 times if u dont count the creek. My front tire got pushed out from under me there so I called that a drop/semiunassin.
