I find the Blackbird to really suck at launching for me. Seat is so low and pegs are so high my feet can't make it up in time to shift. Gonna lower pegs and add an inch to the seat +2 inches might help. Only completed one run last weekend and the BB did 10.5 at 135 so the potential is there for sure, I hope another 1/2 second. I would be happy as hell with that. Not easy tho. PM me and I will get you an email addy Jeff

Just picked up my new to me 2003 Blackbird!
![]() Only did 50 miles (poor weather) but so far its been great! Wanted some thing for SPORT touring over long distances. This has bags, risers, etc. Very nice compliment to my KTM 990 which is a hooligan on back roads and city streets but not as easy going over long / fast distances. P.S. I am looking for a 2 up seat if anyone is selling one. I will trade plus cash for the Corbin that is on the bike.

I could be wrong, but I think valve checks are at 24k. But the indy blackbird expert I used said he'd never had a bike in his shop that needed them adjusted under 60k or so.

Valves
Valve checks are at each 16K, but what I've read echoes what your expert said - don't bother until three or four times that. I may wait until 32K, but I'm fairly fastidious.

Nice find! I really like that color. I don't believe I've ever seen it in person.
