When last we left our intrepid heros.....
Okay, I'm going to rewind here a bit...Not to catch us up but to add a bit more "meat" to this tale. ![]() After waking up to a beautiful morning in Cheaha... ![]() ![]() ..and scarfing down a couple of Nutrigrain bars and instant coffee ,some of our embattled soldiers needed fuel. We stopped at what seemed like an ordinary gas station ( though the name should have been a clue to what an oasis this place truly is) to get a bit of petrol for our beloved steeds.. ![]() After wandering inside and scoping the place out, Philip Kuntz discovered a treasure hiding within this little dust covered gem. The isle of ANYTHING YOU FREAKIN" NEED!!! Take a gander.... Need a sewing kit? GOT THAT!! Calculator? CHECK!! Batteries? YUP!! Need to blow the back out of some fine country filly? GOT YOU COVERED SON!! Lips get chapped after that little escapade? NO PROBLEMO!! Maybe a stain in that blue dress and you don't need to keep the DNA evidence? WE HAVE WIPES!! and MORE!!......

After some fuel and a tasty snack shared by Buzztail we were on our way..Officially. We rode a ton of slab this day but it was the good kind (read twisty). We picked our way through Talladega Natl Forest (see previous post ) and onto a bit more slab. As I said though, even the slab was pretty darn good riding especially when you get to ride a little of this in between...
![]() ![]() We came to a "Bridge Out" sign but the locals in golf carts seemed to have little issue with crossing it so... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gratuitous "Scotty loves Jean" bridge pic. ![]() We took this opportunity to rest and eat some lunch. Today would be more about the ride than the pictures so you get what you get. We rode some amazing blacktop twisties and some fun dirt sections. A big part of today's ride would be an introduction to the GA gravel that the local road management has decided to put down on every single mile of dirt road. This stuff is slick and made for some..."interesting" riding conditions. But first ... The best view of the day. ![]() No, not the dude.... the BEER!! It aint the best kind of beer but there's enough of it to make you forget that you are drinking crap.

Here is the Mexican place in Ellijay, GA. Great food and service. We sure got some strange looks and responses from the locals while we were sitting in town square trying to figure out what to eat.

![]() The good thing about expired Natty is that, well, it still tastes just like Natty. Not that I'm a beer snob or anything...hell I enjoyed that expired Natty at ANF as much as anybody...Great pics and ride report fellas!
