Thanks Jim, I couldn't have done it without you!!!

Belching black smoke was a pretty good sign it was rich. Looking around the 'net to see how people are jetting these on different engines I knew I could take a big swing at leaner and not hurt anything. I'm basically running two 575cc engines and the 650cc thumper guys use this carb more than anybody with mostly a 140 main jet.

I don't have time to mess with the accelerator pump, but it shoots too much fuel without a load and isn't an issue with a load...I don't even notice it. It might waste full, but I'm really out of time and I'm going to have to run it as is.

Off to the DMV in a minute.

$84 lighter I'm back from the DMV. Met a chick in line that is an inactive member of the Polka Dots (local dirt bike club) and she was getting her green sticker for the IT175 she's rebuilding, way cool.

Back of the screen:

Ballasts stuck on with double sided tape:

and a ziptie to make sure they stay there.

I tested for continuity on a few wires and didn't like what I was finding.

So I'm stripping it down, replacing the relays and cleaning it up to fit the space I have.

Basically I'm shooting for one working headlight and will do the final drive next week. Blast off is Friday morning, gonna work my butt off tonight and tomorrow morning so I can ride it to work tomorrow...I need a little more seat time to make sure the jetting is something I can live with.

I should hire a gardener, I don't have time!!!

Found a diagram on the net, my time delay relay only has four wires...it'll get me close I think.

High beam indicator is working.

Ohhh, that's promising.

I'm not really sure how to do the time delay relay? I know it's there because HID's are slow in switching and it is in between the two beams to speed up the change between hi/lo.

I can figure that out later, bottom line is that I have a low beam and a hi beam. It's time to ride!!!

Looming...

Lights...

More adjustments on those stupid throttle cables.

All done:

I put the acc pump setting back where they were along with the fuel screws, dialed my idle to 800 rpm (is that right for this engine?), changed my ignition curve back to #6 on the pot and all of that together got rid of the off idle stumble.

Just some tweaking left to do, wrap a few more wires and such...gonna ride it to work, if it breaks down I'll call in sick...because I will be.
