Since you brought this up, I checked Honda's website again and the manual version is blacked out!
The DCT is silver. I hope the manual is a different color! Silver just doesn't do it for me as much as the other colors.

Is this it?

If I buy the 700, the first thing I'll do is put a Ducati sticker on it.

I hope it is red but then I will be torn between the DCT and the red one!

Love that Multi in white. I don't know about the Ducati sticker on the NX. Would probably fool quite a few people. I do plan to put Scorpion Trail tires on the NX when I get it though.

I think the black looks the best, but its harder to keep clean and gets really hot when the sun is beating down on it.

It looks like Canada is getting manual transmission with ABS in black.

I hope the manual tranny here in the states is white. Would look really nice with the Hepco and Becker cases.

This is on Honda's comparison site. http://powersports.honda.com/2012/nc700x/compare.aspx again the manual versions color is blacked out.
Manual
64 MPG - Honda's fuel economy estimates are based on EPA exhaust emission measurement test procedures and are intended for comparison purposes only.

472 pounds. Includes all standard equipment, required fluids and full tank of fuel—ready to ride

DCT
61 MPG - Honda's fuel economy estimates are based on EPA exhaust emission measurement test procedures and are intended for comparison purposes only.

505 pounds. Includes all standard equipment, required fluids and full tank of fuel—ready to ride

I can live with that kind of mileage.

But if your sole motivation is fuel savings and your original bike got 50 mpg, and you get 70 mpg on this new honda, at $4.00 per gallon and 10,000 miles per year you are saving $228.00 per year in fuel costs. It's going to take 13 years to make up the hit you took on your old bike to get this honda. Even at $8.00 per gallon it would take almost 7 years. And of course the Honda is depreciating the entire time you own it, which is another financial consideration and another discussion altogether.

None of this takes into consideration the fact that the average miles per year on a motorcycle is approximately 5000 - 6000. Most people don't ride 10,000 miles per year, which means it will take even longer to pay off the beating they took to get the Honda.

I bought my Jeep at the absolute bottom of the car market and the recession. 10 grand off sticker. It's used price that it would realistically sell at today - 3+ years later - is still more than I paid for it. Even considering that, it still doesn't make good economic sense to get rid of the gas guzzler for a fuel efficient vehicle, considering the 12000 miles per year I drive it.

Whenever gas gets expensive people tend to fall on their swords to get something to save a buck on fuel. I'd be willing to bet that over 90% of the time it is not a smart long term economic move.
but you also get a NEW bike that you wanted anyway

Every dealer I have talked to said that the manual is coming, they just don't know what color it is going to be.

Has anyone actually driven the DCT version? I sit in a lot of traffic so I'm more interested in the DCT, just wondering how the acceleration is with it. I'm perfectly fine with having the bike do the shifting for me and being able to still make a fist when I get to work/home.
