Come on, after 4,283 posts on the NC700X in this thread alone he asked what I considered a lazy question. If that is being too hard on the guy so be it. Oh, please excuse me....there are no lazy questions just ones that have been answered 20 times previously in this thread alone.

Some people like to type because they have nothing to say. Hey I might resemble that remark.

I just like to hear people talk about their bikes. Now, this guy shows some enthusiasm about the acceleration on the S version. In town, it's about as good as you can get. Ride starts about 1min in.

Re: acceleration enthusiasm - it gets even better, as he's got a Mille or
some crazy bike like that too.

I've got a 98hp FZ6 now.. and call me crazy but.. that 700 twin might be
faster to react around town and from stoplight to stoplight.

It's amazing how much pull it's got right off idle with virtually no throttle.
But after that, you expect a big surge at wide open, and that just isn't
there.

Without aerodynamic drag the theoretic speed in 5th is just that. It's different when you have to punch a hole in the air. I find the actual top speed about 10 mph less.

I guess I'm getting old, because I don't know and I don't care how fast it'll go.

I'd love to hear thoughts on this after you get it. I've tried a couple different configurations, and have yet to find happiness. :( I'm on the fence about getting a large CalSci screen from here: http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/NC700prod.html I had a MadStad on my 05 DL650 and it worked pretty good, but the price on the NC700X seems a bit steep...
