I was actually thinking once XR1200's, Moto Guzzi's, Urals, Electric bikes, maybe those 250 Kawasakis and Hondas all together in one race?

I would seriously pay to see that.

Heck, maybe even throw in a couple big scooters. It could be sort of like the Special Olympics of motorcycle racing.

Was talking to a Pegram insider. He is getting absolutely no help from BMW this year he said he might run his 2011 bikes with no roundels and none on his hauler either. Tommy Hayden would have ridden for him for free if he culda got some help from BMWNA. As it stands he will barely be able to run one bike this year. BMWNA told him AMA wasn't a viable investment because of management and lack of fan support.

Is it Chuck Graves?

Interesting press release: http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/...?article=46921

I have never been a fan of Chuck Graves and I really don't know why. He was a great racer himself and he parlayed that into running the Factory Yamaha program for a long time. I presume he is a contractor and makes a lot of money at it. That should be a good thing, but somehow it escaped me.

Graves race parts are expensive, but they seem to work. Particularly the parts that find speed, and I know that first hand. Compared to the tire bill, a Graves R6 seems a value if you want to win. But then you still have the tire bill.

There must be more going on here than Graves trick parts. A genious is finding Yamaha's factory racer talent for AMA Pro. Is it Chuck Graves?

Yamaha should own next season. I could be wrong, but I bet the two Daytona Sportbike kids will be the strongest force in the series. Buby has been remarkably strong all along as a privateer. Gerloff turned his first pro race at NJMP upside down. I saw it first hand. He was the fastest 600 in the paddock!

Whatever, Yamaha has riches yet again and 2012 is going to be awesome. It's a new world I think, and Ole' Chuck must be at the very center of it.

The economy has changed much since 2010. BMW's North American marketing manager said about two years ago that the reasons they weren't competing in AMA Superbike were purely economic. I doubt the reasons are much different now.

Dang, I wish I knew how to spin wrenches. I'd like to be a part of that. This could be a big story unfolding.
It just goes to show you the difference between the people who want it, and the people going through the motions.

BMW Motorcycle USA for example...

I'm looking forward to watching May and Eslick compete, and develop the 1190RS. Two very different approaches to racing.

. . . now I'm curious who the sponsor is. I had heard from a reliable source "you'll never believe what I heard about Eslick".

EBR is big, but well within the believable realm. There may be more to come . . .

This article has a bit more info. than the RRW one . . . though I'm still more intrigued by what isn't said than by what is.

It seems like, at the very least, EBR will have a more comfortable funding base than they had last year when they were working out of a box-truck and worried about the cost of every tire:

What's wrong (or at least different) about this picture?
