Got one? I just put a down payment on a black 6 speed mt scheduled to be built on 10-7-11.
Any of you have experience with one?

I like the look of it. I had the last gen CRX Si for 10 years, so I'm partial to that style. I wish this was a true replacement for that car. Honda dropping it ended my love affair with the manufacturer.

I think they might have been shooting for more of an HF replacement than Si but newer safety regs tossed a bunch of weight on. Turning the clock back is tough to do. Owner comments on the net seem to differ a lot from EPA estimates though. Big time.

Yep. I also noticed one reviewer refer to the system as a hybrid assist and not an actual hybrid. Apparently it doesn't fit well w/ the purists.

I drove one and love it, not the fastest or best handling car but it just had a good feel to it and the electric motor gives it low down torque so coming out of a corner you do feel it. The car initially was supposed to be 16,000 and then it was a no brainer, at ~20-23k I'll need a better job first....there are more pressing (motorcycle) purchases ![]() I also wish they had the euro/Japanese back seats, yes they are too small for people but so were the ones in my NX2000...it didn't stop us from filling it up for 3 hour trips when needed.

Always liked the lil' hot hatch. Then bmw came out with their x6. I consider it a big hot hatch.

You never know what's accurate when it comes to new car rumors but there's been a persistent one about this CR-Z. Something about Honda yarding out the battery at some point and offering the same basic car w/ an Si powertrain. Not exactly what I was looking for but it does sound like it might be a hoot to drive, if...

Yeah, the weight thing has killed a lot of the fun little cars we used to have. Especially the hot hatches. I think they are starting to come back some. Focus, Mazda3, etc, but they are really luxurious beasts compared to the CRX, Toyota FX16, Omni GLH (remember that one?), etc...
Still, I like the style, and if they did build something sporty with it, that would be a blast. My 88 Si stickered at $10,800. I wonder what that is in today dollars. |

I think they look pretty cool. I heard they aren't too quick, that's okay with me, I like it better now that I hear they return better gas mileage than EPA (which wasn't so great all things considered).

So a stripped Cooper comes in about that. That car is probably the closest in spirit to the old CRX IMHO. If only I could get over the horrendous interior, but that is always a matter of taste. CRZ certainly looks better though.

Mini Coop's got the horrendous interior; Ford Fucus has the laundry list of defective parts; Honda's got the Fukushima Dai-ichi radiator package. There's always something.
