I just thought I'd mention this, but I do mapping for a living, so if there are any questions around mapping, GPS, satellite imagery, data, etc, let me know. I can't promise to always be of help, but it's a start.

If anyone who intends coming wants to suggest a time.....we will take the average and go from there......I was thinking no later than 0800.....but I am on a time limit for work that night.......(maybe )

Grampians Ride

Visiting the DSE or NRE sites normally gives you details on road closure / openings, but from past experince copying these maps & planning a ride, gates have been still closed due to unforseen environmental damage.
I have a few CFA fire map books that I reguraly use on rides, call me OLD fashioned but I can't get my head around using a GPS.

Meeting at 07:30 / 08:00 at Mc-Chucks sounds good to me.

GAGs, replyed to your PM.

Objection our honour. We're just happy to let our Mexican neighbours charge into the sunset without thought. Knock yourself out!!

Sadly I'll miss this ride. After two brief forays into them there hills, I'm looking forward to more. Next time ...

I'm sure there'll be more rides. This just shows how easily things can come together when the stars align.

Happy riding folks.

thats ok,,... we get an extra half hour playtime at the end of the day (which is usually after we've found the good places to play)

Talking So who's in??

Ok, so looking like some takers for the Grampians on 4/12, meeting in Hamilton at McD's at 0800 Vic time (or earlier for some sort of brekky) trying for a departure from there around 0830. I am trying to work it for lunch at Halls Gap then onwards from there.

Scoured through for candidates so if interested, can you add your name below by doing a quote of this post so I can see what interest we have.

Thanks goes out to James Cook. He invited me over to his place this afternoon and we had a yarn for a bit. It was great. I don't get to talk bikes much these days, so thanks for that!

He also showed me a good ride back home on the map heading through Mt Napier State Park. I made it home just before the rain came down and had great fun out there. It's not a technical ride, but I loved just being out in the bush with the bike. here are some picks. It's not a ride report. It was way too short, but good fun nonetheless.

Funny enough, I happen to find one, but it was far enough to avoid it easily.
