I typed that last message on my phone. It made no sense.

Dr How Long? is a joke for a local doctor who gives out medical certificates without even an examination.

If all else fails you can have problems with infected wisdom teeth repeatedly. Or a grandparent who died ( for the 5th. time)

Back on the grid.

Hey everyone. No, I'm not dead or haven't dropped off the edge of the planet. Just spent the last 6 months working my way through a company restructure and relocation. So here I am now, in South Australia. We're still getting on our feet, but it didn't stop me from sorting out a new bike.

Nairne, close to Mt Barker. I work in Adelaide though, so about a 40 minute commute one way.

I'm stoked about my Tenere. Even before they were released, I've wanted one. It only took me 5 years!

Have you contacted any of the SA guys on this forum yet to go riding?

I used to live in Lobethal when I was a kid. That is just down the road a bit from Nairne. I lived in Tanunda too for 5 years. Wir alles Deutsch sprechen!

I've found the SA group, but haven't made contact yet. Something I'll definitely do. Saw a guy on a 1200GS riding the opposite way the other day, waving at me with a long arm, so it seems that there should be some activity in the area.

And yes, I'm getting back to my German roots here. My daughter's in a Lutheran school and learning German. Love Hahndorf.

Hahndorf is nice but too commercial now.

Definitely, I've actually taken a test ride on the BMW Sertao too. It costs less and has more features, but it didn't make me smile. I'll give you feedback on both, but so far I absolutely love this bike.

SWAT track day 2

BRR and I navigated our way from Casterton to Nelson today.

We combined old tech ( I printed out a copty of the DSMRA route sheet and carried it in a plastic sleeve) with new tech ( BRR used a mapping program to guess the route from the route sheet instructions and made a GPX file for his GPS.

We did fairly well finding our way despite there being plantation where they were not 10 years ago and some that were there are gone. We missed a few turns near Nelson but it is still pretty close to the original route.

It took about 7 hours and I think it was about 180 Km.

Next we need to explore the Portland to Casterton section. Much of it will be OG (over grown due to no track maintenance by DSE for 10 years)The Neslon to Portland section will be easy.
