Thats My home town area, Edenhope.

There is some real good tracks down that way, Most of them I have covered, before I even had a licence.
But a good central meet up point could be.

Or the Dergholm Pub.
Here you could get people from Naracorte, Edenhope Natumuk (my brother is there), Horsham, Hmailton Macarthur, Portland, Nelson, & the Mount, and all places inbetween.

Just a thought.

Gags,
Offen see you on the road when I'm going to / from work, so the window comes down so I can hear the roar the staintune, just love that sound.
Finish the N/S tomorrow with 5 days off, so hoping the water stays away for a ride in the next few days.

it was a bit wet

Wal it was only rain!

I reckon that a meeting at Bishops Rocks with a ride would be a good idea over the summer.

We could get to know each other and maybe establish a ride group via email. The same as we do for trail riding using DSMRA as a central insurer, but this time adventure rides staying overnight at a location then riding home.

Sounds like an interesting track. I'm keen to hear more, and may be able to help with gps aspect.

I'll pm my email for more info.

I'm one of three from Naracoorte/Penola signed up for the apc rally. We may already be in touch!

By the way, where are you based? If you've mentioned it, I've missed it!

Gags
Check your PMs I
I've booked my leave, got the whole week off. I'll probably head up to Kennedys Creek for a couple of days on Monday so could meet up with you somewhere Wednesday or Thursday for the trip north.
Paul.

Don't you mean Baileys Rocks, in the Dergolm State Park?

Thats exactly the sort of riding I'm keen to get into XRman, local areas first so I can hone my scouting / MacGyver skills again and then on to bigger and better things. I'm still in the process of buying some soft panniers for the DR and then I'm ready to go.

John the SWAT route sheet is on the way via cyberspace.

Wal, Bailey was a saint of a man hence " Bishop" rocks ( honestly I was confused).

So from what I am reading here;

1) There is support for forming a group in our region to hold ride weekends. Dirt road, road, easy off road track type rides.

2) There is no objection to running them under the wing of the DSMRA to get cheap insurance cover for the organizers. This means the first ride you can come as a guest to trial the concept, thereafter you have to join DSMRA. On the day you arrive, sign up for the ride (indemnity form) and that is it.

3) we could form an e-mail group to spread the word about rides.

4) We could share GPS logs of rides so others can do the rides later.

5) Riders can lead a ride in their locality where they know the terrain well.

If this sounds a good idea to you, PM me with your details ( name, mobile no. , email address) and I will get the ball rolling.
