I think if you really want to know why the rockies ADV section has no takers? I think you probably scare crap out of people with rides like this. I know I would have been whooped at the end of this ride. I must say your desire to ride in the dark over mountian passes is curious really. Keep churing out good posts and pics brother.

Wow that was a real DS ride. what a beautiful part of the world. I was in Aspen 2 weeks ago for the Ruggerfest and the colours had not changed at that stage (apparently late this year). However we went up the Gondola. Absolutely fantastic bike country. Only problem is that there is no dirt bike hire company there abouts.
Enjoy it before you have to put the bike away and get the skis out. Bloody tough in Colorado isn't it

Nope! Last I heard he still had the occasional stalling problem. he had not had the latest re-flash though. He was waiting for the dealership to call and let him know it was available and they never did even though the re-flash was out for a while.

YP... Viewed your sweet and colorful and images last night, but have a chance to respond this morning and note, that is about as epic and memory filled as a ride can get in one day.

purdy colors!

Nice RR. I love it when the trees turn all KTM colors and you seem to have caught the moment perfectly

Very nice

Wow. Amazing scenery. Nice pics. Only downside to fall is that winter comes next. :)

Great report and great motorbike!

Nice you drove dirty roads in the dark, I do it sometimes and is a great experience. I've never thought to visit CO but now I think I'll do asap.

Ciao

DS ride

Road a similar route about 15 years ago on my R100GS PD. Started in Boulder and went up to Toland and then over the pass near James Peak and down to St Mary's and I70, Then to Leadville and Hagerman to Aspen. Then over Pearl. Getting the PD over and down Pearl was a freakn workout especially with Avon Gripsters on. I felt like MC Hammer trying to stay on board that thing. I still can't believe we didn't take any photos of that. Only did one bivy in Aspen. Road all the way from Aspen to CB then Taylor Park and then back to Boulder in one day. Heated grips saved me for the last 75 miles.

I was out there in '96 during my mtn. bike racing days I did 401 and think that is one the best rides I have ever done. Good job with the video, I wish they would have had the GoPro's out back then, now I'm telling my age.
