Stopped in to visit my local dealer today also. The regional Triumph rep from Minnesota was there & said there are several scattered about the midwest. They should be rolling in anytime boys & girls...

Was meant to be!

Enjoy the new scoot. As GB said, start up a new thread on your experiences. It looks like you will have company soon if the new US ship date holds.

There is a black Explorer on its way to my house next week. This will be the first bike delivered in the country . I've been on edge for the last few weeks as we have planned a trip around the country next week and I desperately wanted to do it on the Explorer. Seems like it may make it just in time

BTW it will involve a bunch of really cool guys riding +-5000km on and off road and the excuse for getting on the bikes and doing this distance is to test beer at a string of micro breweries dotted around the country. The best reason anyone could have to take a week off work - ride a cool bike and drink cold beer

Question for Bryn. How are you finding the touring screen? By all accounts it's very effective..

Congrats!

Now fill out your profile so we can see exactly what "country" you're talking about.

If you are headed to SoCal be sure to stop in to the Alpine Brew Pub in Alpine CA. Some of the best Mirco beer I have ever found and the pulled pork and ribs are awesome!

Okay so Alpine is a little too far for him on this trip... Still a great little known place to grab a pint for those who are in the area.

Explorer in Texas

Got a call from the Triumph dealer in Dallas this morning. Said a regional manager has taken delivery on his personal bike and that they are making it available to look at. No demo rides, but at least a chance to see one in person. Interestingly, he said that there will be no demo bikes available. and that Triumph has stopped doing the demo road show they used to do. Bummer there's no way to get a ride before putting your money down. Is this true everywhere, or just here?

Triumph has provided journalists with test rides and photo shoots - there's an article in this months Cycle World. Triumph has a Tiger 1200 on the motorcycle show circuit where anyone can see, touch, sit on and take pictures of it. People in Europe already own them. If this bike is not supposed to be revealed to the public yet it's quite possibly the worst kept secret ever.

It's like DVD releases etc. Everyone knows it's coming and what it looks like but dealers who get them ahead of time are not allowed to release or display them early. It's like when the new Iphone is released at midnight because the retailers want to get a jump on competitors.

No more Triumph semis coming with all the bikes for demos? Certainly convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt to grab an XC when the demo truck came to Akron last year.
I think they are not doing themselves any favors by canceling this service.

Three buddies bought bikes at one of those events in TN last year... Big mistake Triumph!

If you guys were not aware, Triumph north America got a new CEO last year. His previous experience includes working at Harley Davidson for 20 years. Word is that he wants to focus more on "lifestyle." (surprise, surprise)

So he has done away with the demo trucks (because actually riding the bikes might distract you). Not a fan of this guy, myself. I bought at least 1 triumph because I was able to demo it of the truck. Looks like that won't happen again.
