Canandaigua Motorsports. They've got my Launch Model and are supposed to have or be getting a standard model as well. Last I heard it wasn't spoken for.

I know quoting your own post is a not cool, but I rearranged my schedule so I can pick up my Explorer tomorrow AM. The only bummer is that I have to haul it home, as I don't have a ride there. :(

I will take a short ride at the dealer & a longer ride tomorrow evening!

Dammit, of course I'm not able to get it for 2 more days due to work commitments. (unless I can come up with an excuse, think I'm feeling the flu coming on )

Quoting yourself is perfectly acceptable when its news like this. Enjoy the new bike and report back with initial impressions.

I heard this same information from the dealer at one point, but the bike was delivered to them yesterday with all the launch items already installed. Only waiting on the tank bag (next week) and panniers (mid-May) to complete it as I spec'd it, with add'l labor only for installing those last two items.

FWIW, for a while I was also hearing claims that there was to be no "Launch" bike or "SE" model in the US. Also seems to have been bad info. I also heard about a dealer add-on kit, included heated seat and grips, and maybe some other items that they were supposed to get as a special promotional item, but details were sketchy.

Going to go ride it in an hour or so.

I thought Triumph was going to install them for free as a launch pack as Yamaha did with the Tenere and the saddle bags.

He said the launch bikes come with the launch pack in the create and are demo bikes only. He said the manufacture sells them the launch pack to display and gives them 10% off parts. He also said all launch packs has to be assembled at the dealer and are not sent on the bike from the factory......not sure I believe that.

If you go on Triumphs site and use the create your own option it's lists the U.S MSRP at $15,699 then you add your accessories. I built one with almost every accessory expect the painers and it came to an additional $4,089 not including labor.

Just wondering if anybody has heard specific info about the differences between the 800 & 1200? I know they are completely different engines, but you would think they share some engineering.
For example: the trans on the 1200 can be removed with just a few bolts. The whole tranny slides out for easy access. I know for sure my 800 does not.

Its in my hands (Iowa, USA)

Just picked up my Explorer today. Only took about 10 minute/5-6 miles test drive as I needed to be back at the office for a meeting. From that short ride-
It's awesome. Motor seems electric, all torque from idle up. Sounds great. It's heavier then a GS but feels lighter. I can even get both feet on the ground. I think it's only shortfall is a small fuel tank. Sounds like only 150-180 mile range B4 reserve. Did I mention the sound?

I will post a better RR when able. Gotta say, it looks better in person then pics, IMO. Below are some quicky iPhone pics-

Also, for anyone who has seen both, are the handguards on the explorer larger than the tiger 800's and if so does it look like the explorer ones would fit the 800?
(I know the 1050's fit the 800)

Cangradulations....I have the same color beast on order. Just got my vin assigned today. 2 more weeks I heard Triumph last minute redesigned the tank and thats why these bikes are late. They were to big and bulbous looking. I just saw a show that was taped about 8 months ago and the host was at the Triumph plant and we has talking about the new Explorer model having a huge gas tank and 115 hp. Sounds like Triumph did the right thing and bumped up HP and made her look better. I have a Speed Triple and despite the weight the bike is just as fast...too me anyway.

Good luck with her!!!

Would you mind PMing me with your deal when you have time. I want to see what the dealers are charging for the launch pack.

Thanks..

Isn't this why there's a vendor's forum?

Congrats!

This will be a big success for Triumph. They know they can't out-sell BMW, but they can sell-out of the Tiger 1200.
