So how does Explorer compare to Super Tenere in your opinion? Both bike are under consideration right now and I am planning to test ride both, but I am curious what other people think after riding both.

As a current Yamaha Super 10 owner, i found the engine to be excellent. Up there with the Crosstourer. Fast road work is a doddle - especially with the touring screen fitted. Chassis is nimble, driveline is ace, lights work great and controls fall easily to hand.
It feels more in line with the ex - sports bike / sports tourer owner ethos that sees the vast majority of these bikes in the hands of guy's like me - who don't go off road - but, want to cover distance in comfort and fun.
Hell of a machine. if you have one on order - you won't be disappointed.

Vee is better then S10, X12 is better than Strom... From performance standpoint

I guess the easiest comparison is that the Triumph feels more aggressive. It really does want to rip. The Yamaha feels more sedate in stock trim. If you spend the coin, by all accounts, then you can give the S10 more attitude, but i guess it's horses for courses.
Nice to have so much choice, really.

Except when your wife also rides (got me into riding actually). Then you can just kiss all your money goodbye

Also proves that BMW and Triumph riders can get along

All the Vee's got going for it in this category, is the motor and it's price tag.
2002 technology and a KLR budget build.

I'm putting deposit for coming black Explorer tomorrow... It took me test ride the Tiger 800, the XC, then, I went to Baltimore - 7 hr ride, just to test ride the S10... Guess I did great mistake riding demo Explorer last Friday... Come here technology of 2012...

Congrats Voluhzia, I'm sure it'll feel like two decades worth of advancement, compared to the Vee.

Too true, my wife buys more bikes than I do. Complaining... hardly.

Dealer called me to tell that 2 triumph Explorers arrived... 1 already sold.

So, dealer called me to tell me that the Explorers arrived, but one is sold, guy put 3K down and the other is out for grabs but not test drive alowed unless you put cash down ! :(
They say that they don't want to add miles to this bike, since they are not getting any more till the end of the year...
So much for filling up Triumph Paper work for Test drive

You should get his email address and send him a link to all these Americans who are lying about actually owning one!

Can't believe they would all lie just to make me and you feel bad, Luke.

What kind of people hang out on these fora? One's with excellent photoshop skills if you ask me

Do we need to get a few of these "imaginary" bikes together and pay a visit to your local rep and the dealer??
