So everyone's motorcycle is a toy? I am sure I am not the only one around whose primary mode of transportation is their motorcycle.

And so it begins..

After 15+ hours of flying from halfway around the planet, I finally picked mine up today.
It's in the garage with the seat off as I start putting things on. Right now I'm going to bed due to jet lag.
Tomorrow I work on it all day and then Wednesday start riding for the Outer Banks.

Me too!

The closest Triumph dealer here (up in Portland) is also a Moto-Guzzi dealer. I'm thinking about riding up there to check 'em out side by side. Kinda doubt I'd get to ride them though. I've never found a dealer willing to let you "test ride" bikes. I got to ride the 800XC when the demo truck came through.. that was it.

Actually, I think you might want to give them a call (Cascade ?). IIRC it's a condition of being a Triumph dealer that you must provide demo rides ?

That's weird. One of the dealers here in Seattle (I90 Motorsports in Issaqua) has let me ride the Tiger Explorer, the Tiger 800, a Tiger 1050, and a Super Tenere and all they required was allowing them to make a photo copy of my license and sign a form saying if I bashed it, I had to fix it. Of course, I showed up full ATGATT and I'm in my 50s so maybe they figured I was responsible or something. HA!

Tore it all down, installed new SW-MOTECH crash bars, Rox Risers, highway pegs for that long run to Kansas City next week (don't judge me!).
Too damn humid around here 80F, 90% humidty...so I'm shipping the rest to KC to work on the two weeks I'll be visiting there. I'll have access to a nice big garage space there.

Put my down payment down this afternoon. Hopefully Ill have mine by next week for the long weekend!!

How about some better pics of the SW crash bars? Same with your highway peg set up too! I like those better than the factory ones. I kept knocking my feet into those and didnt really care for them.

Nice Iball.

Got any details (and pics) of the highway pegs? I'm trying to figure out what pegs to fit to my Stelvio....

Thanks!

Rode a demo today. Wow ! THat is a scooter. Seems like it would be more trouble free that the GS. 3500rpm at 60. Don't have to pull the tranny to replace the clutch. I am concerned about panniers of decent size for it. Runs on regular. Got me thinkin.

The Latus Harley Davidson dealer in Gladstone is also a Triumph dealer now. They had a Explorer a few weeks ago, and they encourage you to test ride there. Give em a try...

The local dealers in San Diego offer me another test ride everytime I stop in. They are well aware that I am not interested until an XC version arrives but they still offer. That offer pretty much extends to any bike in the showroom and the only special treatment I might get is that I belong to three local riding groups that the owners all belong to. However saying that I see countless people test riding everytime I stop in and most of them are not in any group I know of.

I'll go check the Gladstone dealer. Cascade is the one I got turned down on financing with, so they already know I can't buy one yet. :)

I've looked at the Stelvio on the website, and while it has a lot of high points, the Tiger is just soooo much nicer looking. I LOVE the blue. Even the black is pretty, but I can't deal with trying to keep black clean and scratch-free.
