But question raised by the OP remains: Does your KTM stablemate suck?

As one who has observed your "Red bike" in the mirrors of my "Orange bike", I am (unfortunately) in the (lead) position to know:

Yes, your Red bike sucks.
Thanks for the compliment, but I think we both know it's not the bike, that sucks.

Did you get your wheels for the KTM 990 Adventure Dakar from Woody's?

Lovely collection Dave.

I had a XL250S back in the day when I was an empoverished student. The exhaust rotted and I couldnt afford an OEM item so I slipped on the end pipe from a VW beetle, compete with the beettleish whistle

I rode that damn thing 2 up on 500 mile weekend rides

Well, I suppose it depends on how you define stable mate and what you are interested in.

These are our "travel mules". We store these, fly out, ride to somewhere new, store them, fly home, repeat! So they never really share the stable with the KTM

Are they as cool as the KTM, no. Do they suck for their purpose, no.

Now this one lives at home with the KTM....but is Jeska's "at home bike".....so not *really* "mine" to play with.....but mine to work on

.....now if we just want to talk about the stable itself.......these are the other stable mates! . Up to you if you think they suck, I'm okay with that!

Dr Jekyle and mr Hide

The F650 Dakar is like Dr. Jekyle, the KTM, is Mr. Hyde. I like 'em both.

I did like riding behind my sweetie on his GS, but he thought it would be nice for me to have my own, so he bought me my KTM. We already had lots of orange in the shop. Now we have a fast Kitty to keep out furry kitty company.

I happen to like my KLR. Paid $1500 w/3,000 no dirt/no rain miles in 1991, heated & carpeted garage even

Over 168,000 miles now, been everywhere, done just about everything with her. Just one problem- sucks (bad kinda of sucking) on the modern highways. Needed another cylinder (and some more modern suspension/geometry) so I got the 950 for that... relegated to Mountain Goat status, she hardly gets ridden anymore, and when it happens it's in the stuff I oughta be using a trials bike to ride through.

here sporting multiple-bikes bodywork and some fresh D606's we're off to crawl the creeks at night. Works better that way, you don't see the stuff that usually scares you away from trying it

all those miles together with those few dollars, I must be the posterchild for "Cheap KLR650 Owners"

You are saved from Suckiness by the "Test Vehicle" sticker. Carry on.
