Wifey had some cartlige removed from her knee on Wednesday so being the caring type that I am I'm on Carers leave; Even better than sick leave!!

On a more sensible note are the creek/river crossings on the main track to Bramwell constructed fords or earth/rock base? Anyone??

The Main track should be fine, it's only when you venture onto the old telegraph track the fun starts.

I'll probably be ready for a little rest by the time I get that far so easy will be good! Not sure the OTT is the place for a solo 950 with me on it! Plan to do a day run to the tip at sometime over the weekend

We are planning on a night or two at Seisha and taking the boat trip to TI.

Charlie should we take one of these, http://www.handheldsystems.com.au/index.php?cPath=130 you know how AD is on these trips.

Also i just orderd a high gain short length antenna for that hand held, see if that's any better

bolt assortments , first aid kit, bottle of rum, etc

how many are we looking at in our group obj,if we all chip in its not to expensive. what do the rest of you think. henry has his spot and i know they work well.

I carried a Sat phone on our first cape trip in 2007 and found they were useless anywhere there were trees around, was told they work great in open/desert terrain, spent ages walking around the camp ground at Archer River trying to find a spot to get it to link to the saterlite. With the amount of travelers up north these days I would not carry one, the extra weight is not needed.

Pete, make sure you take the bus tour on TI, it's well worth it and I think it only takes a hour, takes you over the other side to the fort and the jap perl divers cemetry( which is like a mini city)

Well if you got out of the camping ground the reception would be better. How many pubs on TI? have i got time for a bus tour, i'd hate to miss one.
