I hope the kawi demo truck comes to MSP again. I miss my '06, and I'm curious how the changes since then have come together. I rode the Z1000SX last year and it was brilliant.

Well I picked one up today. Fun bike. Need to find a way to clean up the tail on this thing. The rear fender is MASSIVE.

Make sure you don't mind riding with wet back if you get rid of it.

It isn't really that the fender is big, it is that the seat and tail section are so small... I really dislike that trend in moto design. put a comfy seat, a grab rail, and a strong subframe back there. Some of us use it.

God damn it. Demo truck is in town today, and I thought I'd see if the new 650R was as great as my memories of the '06 I out 25K on.
I love these stupid little things. Great balance and power for a solo street bike. Anybody want an FZ6?

I too ride year round. I may go the same route I went on my/now my wife's so I could get a new bike cbr250.
I took off the stock fender and cut it down a bit. Cleaned up the rear end a lot but still provides really good splash protection. I know I saw someone else go that route on another forum. I'll have to dig up that thread and look at it again. |

Looks like you could unbolt the reflectors and some ancillary parts and leave the main fender and license plate bracket, but clean it up visually quite a bit.

![]() I bought my 650R in 2007, and by mid 2008 I was all over Yamaha shops trying to swap it for the new FZ6 S2..

I just put the windshield in its upper most position. See how that does. Wind was brutal on the freeway on the way home yesterday. Already looking into either the MRA Touring or doube bubble screen. And possibly either a riser or some bars that are just a wee bit more back. But I'll but one miles on it before the bar mods. |

I had the MRA Touring on my 2007.. it probably doesn't mean anything
since the new bike has a completely different windscreen but.. The stock bike was horror. I couldn't ride over 65mph for more then 45 minutes (I'm 5'11"). The MRA Touring made it comfortable up to 75mph for about $100. I should have gone with the adjustable MRA Touring Vario, see if that's available still. It doesn't look "cool" but it works.. Should have asked before and bought the ER6n.
