Anybody taken one of these things to the track yet?
The lack of centerstand might be worthwhile if the bike can boogie on the track without embarrassing itself... |

One issue I'm having with this, as I read the pricing on a couple of sites, the US pricing on this bike is going to be close to $14,000 based on the pricing in other areas. That's kinda on the high side for a sport touring bike.

Doubt it!
Its $13,999. in Canada so it should be about $11,000. in the U.S. even though our $ is higher right now. Bikes are always cheaper in the U.S. We get shafted here price wise on just about everything. But I guess its alot worse in Europe and Austrailia.

Paid $12,800 out the door, good deal for the spring - I ordered one, so the dealer didn't have to put it on his shop financing, sometimes you can both benefit. I know the guys, didn't mind putting down a deposit to get a deal. I also needed a new quad, so we worked a combo deal.
I usually wait until Christmas and act a bit like a vulture, choosing from what's left (you can usually get what you want if you search), but this time I was pretty sure that I wanted a specific model and for this summer. If there are any around this fall you can probably do as well or better. When I bought my 2003 FZ1 at Christmas of that year, it was almost $4,000 off list...some dealers just want old stock gone. |

Winterized and put in the shed yesterday. Snowed today, already -5 tonight, riding is about over for this year. For anybody who is looking for a versatile, reasonably high performance bike that can do some gravel roading and perhaps a bit more, I highly recommend the Versys 1000. Looking forward to next year's riding season.

Crap!
Looks like today will not be the day we hoped for. The Total Motorcycle web site no longer says October 2nd will be the US information release date. It now says," As soon as released". I may have to start thinking about a V-Strom 1000. Sigh....
