I think he wants to go for the 2012 demo because he will be able to test ride it first. The bike is already break in, and he will be able to experience the vibration level of what could be his bike before buying it. I think it's cool that way. The orange 2013 is good looking, but he also prefer the brownish grey of the 2012.

My bike had 4500kms two weeks afetr I bought it. If you buyz used - Get them to throw in a spare rear tire. They wear out quick on this bike.

2013 is less sobre - flashier but I would prefer a black frame and wheels.

Yeah, I guess the fact thatbthe bike has 4500km doesn't make a big difference.

Ok thanks, I'll tell him for the tire. But I bet it would be difficult for them to add anything else for that price...

I never noticed that the frame and wheels were also black on the 2013. Yes, it's nice looking, but my bro is 47 years old and the orange is a bit to flashy for him. White 2012 is also good looking I find.

I haven't had significant vibration issues at any speed. What I do get is little rocks getting in between the plastic and hard parts and buzzing like mad! Easily removed, once I figured out what it was.

Yeah sometimes the front plastic have a buzz to them. I bought some felt tape (velcro) that i glued on the parts where the plastics mate and all is well.

Seems like there is no Kawasaki that does no do that, I've had my 650R
apart at least 10 times finding all the rattling spots. Horrible build quality
of the plastics.

The new Caponord and V-strom 1k cost less here then the Versys, and I'm
sure they won't have this plastics issue.

Kawasaki seems to do it at every price point.

650R's bodywork didn't look any better then 250R's or my friends ZX6R's..

Yes the plastics are cheap: I owned 2 zx6rs and a zx10r wich has a fairing stay made from plastic that craked si I am aware.

but MSRP is 100% BS: You will never be able to purchase the new Vstrom 1k for less than 10k CAD in Canada. NEVER... EVER

We don't have those "issues" here in EU.

Importer sets the price for the whole country, and everyone sells bikes for
the price that says on the sticker. Both V-Strom and Caponord cost exactly
the same here, $17.800 US dollars.

Versys is more.

That's what stuff costs here.
My ER6F (Ninja 650) was same price as a ZX14 in USA back in 2007.

And fuel costs twice as much too.
And people make $500/month, if they're lucky to work..

DL1000 VS vERSYS 1000

Big difference,

Week ago sold mu 2005 DL1000 & 2008 zzr1400

Test rode new strom.

Small, slow, lighter, forks better, wind blast, to small screen, too litle power gain from previos model, beter low grunt ( had old DL1000 3.5 years), Beter for slow stuff, mauntain passes, streets, riding agressively till 100km/h, after that booring.

vERSYS

Much more power, much comfier, better wind protection, bigger, maybe litle bit heavier, low grunt beter than i tnink before, engine with powerin it.
Not so easy when speed is low. No so shiny super duper brakes, but same calipers like sv1000 and gsxrs750 so not too bad. (I had these calipers on my dl1000 installed)

I forgot. Ride Big explorer 5 days ago, booring. I duuno where that 137hp is?
