[QUOTE=loph917;19033880]at cromag can one experience magic? here two of the resident chief conjurers convince a can that it can dance! there may or may not have been screech involved (its unclear if it was for the can or for the conjurers).

Cereal beverage container magic seems to be common at these gatherings. Here I am levitating this defeated bottle w/nothing more than my charm and good looks.

very nice example of the mystical happenings that can occur at these events jeff!

lets us not forget, cromag is a gastronomy event as well! this is my poor photo - i was too entranced with the good eats to take better photos! while the presentation isn't French Laundry, the yummmm factor is!

Ahhhh, a fellow "foodie"

Thats OK, leave the camera work to the others. Connoisseurs and aficionados like us need both hands and clear focus to carry out the duties of sampling the finer indulgences in life. Here I am sampling some of LadyDraco's homemade cherry jam. Now as impressive as this is you have seen nothing until you witness a Mark O Berry pie smackdown. Biblical I tell ya.

I'll be looking for Hard dirt/gravel/twisty pave, but no mud or ruts please.

Watched the general store vids George posted up and the last one kinda irks me a bit. The biggest blame for these closures is the consumers. Every time I see someone wearing a Cabela's t-shirt, I instead see an image of the local gunsmith or fly shop owner w/a knife in the back. And for those who buy your tires and acc from an online distributor, don't complain when your local dealer goes belly up. Man I hope this store is back up and running when I get there.

In the case of the general store in Barnard, It was a general store setting its prices and devotion to the 10% second owners that are seasonal. There is a 5 star resort 2miles down the road as well. and not pricing toward the 90% locals. I know as I am a local. While it was a very nice meeting place, they catered toward the tourists. Locals were tired of paying the prices. It unfortunately was a poorly managed store.

There are groups now trying to raise money to bring the store back which will be a great thing and many of us look forward to that.

As of yesterday it is open in the mornings by volunteers.

Looking fwd to cromag and meeting fellow inmates

Dave
That's a shame. Hopefully it'll resurrect to it's former glory under better management. I'm elated to hear that the ball is in play.

It appears that there is more beer, than milk in my fridge so in goes the good stuff.

Just saying....

As the traffic ramps up the thread, I may miss your intention's announcement totally by accident. If you don't see your name pop up in the OP, please pm me. "Don't be a dickhead and put my name on the list", is acceptable.

Don't be offended, a lot goes on from now on out and I just might miss it in all the bantering.

Eek Roads open?

Are all roads open now since the floods last year? I assume that they are, but just wondering...

You are so right.

http://www.toziersrestaurant.com/

seems not to work.

It looks like they have resorted to Facebook.

Chatting about bears and dishes.

Although I have ridden the Bethel Mountain Road numerous times.
I have never stopped in Bethel.
http://motorcycle-vermont.com/roads/bethel-mountain-rd/

When slow moving truck traffic seems headed for the mountain road
I take the shortcut (Watershed Road) going north.
At the summit of BM road Killington is visible to the south.

Tavern at the Barnard Inn

The Restaurant's menu is beyond budget.
Tavern seems a bit more moderate.
