Just read the Kevin Cameron piece on WSBK in the September issue of Cycle World. Great read and I had lost touch with what was going on so very enlightening.
I definitely need to get to another round of the series as I haven't been since it was at Laguna.

Cameron has a great style so I won't do it justice but he really covers the difference in politics of WSBK vs. MotoGP and WSBK is starting to look the much better series if you actually like racing.
He makes a good point of how well SBK has been run for 25 years with few blunders and stable tech regs. MotoGP in comparison looks like the chicken running around without a head and he seemed particularly contemptible of the CRT's. Also, I didn't know that SBK bikes next year run 17" wheels (not 16.5) and they must be aluminum, no more light but very expensive mags.

I rekn the 17" rims is fine, after all, these things are supposed to be the "factory hotrods", the old modified production ethos is still there it appears (ever tried to buy a ZX/GSXR/RR with 16.5" rims?).
Dunno about aluminium only though, forged alloys aren't really that much cheaper than carbon.

I friggin hate all the messing around with the rules - both series are meant to be the pinnacle of 2 and 4 wheel vehicle racing series. They are MEANT to push the envelope so leave 'em the hell alone to do just that, as long as it doesn't impact safety (they need protection from themselves on that).

Those rule changes have led to nothing of the sort. Those wins happened in spite of the stupid rules changes, not because of them.

Let's start the Competition Yellow rule in MotoGP. That'll bunch 'em up. Or give them the IndyCar/F1 Push2Pass button. Keep rules consistent, manufacturer's will be able to see a longer term plan of development. Add a rule that minimum weight is rider+bike.
