I've always ridden in small groups of 3-5 the last few years,
and we meet only about 10-15 other riders over an entire 150 mile day.
That's not so bad at all, and it NEVER felt crowded to me, and I'm definitely not a big crowd kinda guy
The fun of the big group comes into play at lunch, and especially in the evenings, campfires, etc....

Black Dog has been staged at Hood River Fairgrounds, only 8 miles from my house,
but I spend the night there for the fun of the group thing. It works out very well.

Hints are next year....
........It'll be closer to Little Bull / Big Spag's place in Central Oregon,,,,,
We'll just see how that plays out. Whatever happens, I'll be there. It is good times.

By the way, I mentioned before about meeting up at the Black Dog. It's the first weekend in June and would be a good primer for the girls' weekend. The guys who ride this, IMHO, are the best and really supportive of the few gals that ride this one. Last year we were about five out of 300. Let's make a better showing in 2012?!!!
Yay! See Donell, we will take care of you. Nothing to worry about.

As far as the Black Dog goes....no flippin' way for me! This was my VERY FIRST season riding off road, so I am a big time nOOB. LadyBug and PNW Buttercup took me on my first off road ride at the Hell's Canyon/Wallowa gathering in June. They even tried to get us lost and leave me for the buzzards to pick clean
We should be able to get a ride in some time before the ladies weekend, after the mountain passes are clear of snow in the spring.

Maybe 2013, no way this year 2012, that's the weekend before finals week! I've checked the web site!
Remember, I'm a poor old struggling college student!

So are you doing that the weekend before HC, Really? And then traveling to Enterprise afterwards? OK I'm jealous again this weekend!

Littlebull - I'd love to get together for a ride sometime! I'm just getting started, and taking it all at my own Slo pace - so thinking I'm not quite ready for the Black Dog just yet.

The date sounds about right. It's how we've been celebrating our anniversary the last couple of years. Can't think of a better way to celebrate with the big guy. And, he gets to ride it this year, not just watch from sidelines. Yeah!

Just PM me if you've got a free day. Weekends are good, usually, and I'm off on Wednesdays and Fridays.

BTW, there is something for everyone on the BD. They have a C course for big bikes (and noobs) that is pavement, gravel, and some easy dirt. The first time I rode the BD, I had only been riding for about 8 months and did the B course without too much trouble. For that extra feeling of comfort, just bring along your own personal bike picker-upper (Slow Joe, that's you).

I don't want to push this, just encourage those who want to give it a try. That's all I'll say on the subject.

Looking forward to riding with you.

Kim

Normally celebrate our anniversaries riding our motorcycles, it's what we do!

I like that turkey...

It's a good day to think about the good things in life and give thanks for all I have. Just one of the many things I'm thankful for is all my good friends here.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Ready for summer!

Got my little fold up camp chair and my bath towel delivered yesterday, so I'm ready for the ladies ride! The solstice is only 21 days away, which means that the days will start getting longer, which also means that summer is just around the corner. OK, OK, I'm jumping the gun a bit, but I'm sooooooo ready to go have some fun. Looking forward to some and some and some
