Cry 01 640 problem- how long can it ride

Hi, i have a friend out on his 640 with no internet accesses in the badlands.

From his description of the problem, it sounds like the water pump seals are bad. he has milky coolant, but not milky oil. He is wondering how long he can ride before it becomes a serious problem, aka can he finish his trip, cut it short, or load it up.

thanks for any help

Doesn't sound good.

Dont know jack about 640s, but on 990s but when the WP seals go it makes the oil milky, and when head gasket let go it give you milky coolant... in most circumstances.

I'll send you my phone # if he needs any help... i am only 120 miles away, if thats the Badlands of ND.
