Day 2 completed. It has been awesome.
Yes, Mac and a rider bypassed Hayden, due to a front brake line that was cut. Rest of the crew went up, over and down Hayden. There was one nasty section of about 100 yards where we had to walk 4 of the bikes down. Aimhi is correct....about a quarter mile of baby heads and really steep, but the group did awesome. Today was a phenomenally scenic ride from Saguache to Lake City, then.....Cinnamon, Hurricane and California Passes. Good night from Red Mountain RV.

It's kinda fun tracking you guys from work (shhhhh....don't tell!) Saw when you guys into Ouray and wondered if you'd have time for Ophir Pass. Can't wait to see more pics!

Looks like they did Lead King Basin and camped near the bottom. Very likely no cell coverage there. Nice the SPOT signal gets out, though!
That route through Grand Mesa looked fun -- on my to do list now...

Well........my ride was cut short. I could not finish the last day. After coming off of Mosquito Pass into Fairplay.......we found out why the descent was so scary for me!!!!! After spending a couple of hours finding the right tools and tearing into the bike, I made the call to BrownEyedSuzanne to bring the pickup and rescue me.

Sorry about the bike John, I do remember reading something about 650rs being grossly under lubricated. Looks like that was the problem here.

My KTM is coming along, I am still waiting for some parts for it. My KLR forks were so bad I can bottom them out without even sitting on it. I can just push down on it. Was a little scary riding it back. I can't wait to see all the pics. It looks like it was a great time. I stopped at the hot springs by saguache and they have camping there that comes with the hot springs and breakfast. they also have really nice yurts as well as hotel rooms. Only 15 minutes from saguache.
