RPage11 & yzfcathy

We'll be arriving late Thurs, with the little bikes, in case Doug's "big bike" ride caters along the smallish side.

I can pick up my KTM. I need several strapping men to get my F8 off the ground after a dirt bath.

Won't be able to attend the whole shindig, RMAR is missing my "vacation window" by about two weeks. But I am planning on leaving the house early Saturday morning and arriving in camp via Creede and Stony Pass to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones, I should roll in around 9. At least everybody will be moving slow that morning so I will have time to get there before everybody heads out . I will also be looking to hookup with a ride that includes Lake City or Creede so I can bail at that point and slab it home. Looking forward to seeing everybody!!

West Fest has been awesome! Heavy rain every afternoon, Sgt. Marty led our ride today over to Canyon City & back (all dirt).

Unfortunately, he laid it down while trying to get ahead of the group to take pics of the other riders, and broke the tib/fib in his right leg.

This happened early in the ride, and he rode with the group to Canyon City, then slabbed back to base camp!

Heal up fast, Marty, hope to see you at RMAR!

Cinnamon I prefer west to east (Silverton to Lake City). There are three steep switchbacks on the Lake City side that are a bit easier going down on the big bikes.
Engineer- probably east to west. I wouldn't suggest the stretch that goes down to hwy 550 a few miles south of Ouray. That stretch is a steep/rocky/bugger. You can continue down to Animas Forks and the split for Cinnamon.
I've done all three on the big bikes. And dropped big bikes on each one at least once.
I'm thinking about Ophir Pass as the beginning of my big bike tour on Friday morning. See ya up in Silverton.
How about OPHIR to TELLURIDE. Is that good east to west too!

OH my goodness.

Darn it Marty.... get well soon my friend.

Honestly though, this is a real painful way to attempt some pampering from LaurieD.

Let's not have any more injuries. I had a scare two days ago, when changing the fork seals and oil on my VStrom. the Bike slipped off the jack and all 500lbs pinned my foot between the skid plan and the concrete floor. I was so concerned that I had broken bones, but I was able to hobble around yesterday with Mac, while we finished up the BBQ Pits. It is a nasty black and blue....but no broken bones.

Merickk, I could use that cane right now as well.
