Plenty of folks there to help with a tire change if there's beer available.

The auto repair place and gas station out at the highway, triangle automotive, used to have some stuff. They do mostly cars, but the owner and mechanics all rode, so they had a variety of tubes at least and loaned us tools when we flatted once coming over Ophir. May be worth checking in with them and giving them a heads up prior to the event. Same for the atv/cycle rental place on the main street.

As of this time.....we have a Commitment from Jim Rios of Billet Racing Products.....that he is bringing his Race Van with all the tools to do just about anything. I suspect he can help with the changing of a tire or two.

Now that's a nice touch. And while I would totally expect anyone who uses his tools and/or his services would gratefully extend a proper tip without encouragement, a reminder won't do any harm.

Just his effort of bringing these resources to an event like this deserves a beer or two whether anyone has to use them or not.

This is a really great point and I will encourage everyone to pay close attention to everyone that lends a helping hand, and reciprocate accordingly.

For instance, if your bike breaks down...way up in the mountains....and someone with a pickup helps you recover it....you are a good person if you reimburse for their fuel....and beverages for their time. Nothin is free these days.....especially with gas at nearly $4 a gallon.

Additionally, I am encouraging Jim to bring some of his goodies to sell. I purchased a shark fin to protect my rear disk on my XR650R from BRP and it is a BEAST....and cost less than $40. They make some phenomenal stuff!!!!

+1. I will bring my list for BRP stuff...even if he doesnt have it at the rally he can always ship it later.

Jim at Red Mountain also rents Jeeps and has a small shop right at the campground. ( I posted pic of it earlier) He said he has welding equipment, and he is also a rider.

I always bring lots and lots of spares, and should have just about anything required to fix a WR450. Especially since I will have 2 of them there.

I cant wait to get up there and ride !

I have not heard that anyone can ride with me. I suspect that these dates are difficult, being that it is a Friday-Saturday thing. Is anyone planning to join me? Please send a PM if you are coming.

June 15-16, Friday and Saturday
Silverton Scouting Trip

We will leave on Friday morning, spend Friday night there....and come back on Saturday.

That will put me home for Father's Day......

Anyone is welcome. You can leave with me from Colorado Springs or meet up with us at any point in the route. (Springs to Salida to Gunnison to Montrose to Silverton)

I will be riding my VStrom and it will be all pavement, unless we decide to divert over Owl Creek Pass.

I will be at Apex Sports in Downtown Colorado Springs at 8:30am....departing shortly thereafter. We can meet up with anyone along the way.

I am tent camping.

Cancelling and rescheduling this trip.....

even my Directors from RMAR can't go on these dates.

Will look for a date the second or third of July.

Or heck....I may just show up in August and START the PARTY!!!!!
