Quit cancelling it and relcoating it until you need to and sopascat is correct ARK isnt halfway for the entire west coast by any means. Plus I love arkansas and all but there idea of a mountain is kinda like a speed bump in Co.

Jeez, I was joking when I mentioned Arkansas, it seemed like it might be far away enough to have rain....

It always rains in Silverton. Fret not, my friends, we shall have fun!

But the great news is its RAINING !!!! The rain will keep coming....and this will be an EPIC, trip of a lifetime im sure. Big Thanks to Big John and his crew !!

I will be up in Durango for a few days next week.... Ill stop in and see them ( Forest service) for an update again then.

Very good to hear....I had no doubts. I have made three trips out to the San Juan's in late July or early august and spent upwards of 10 nights in tents with the cool, rainy nights. Its awesome and great sleeping weather!!!!

Wooo maaan glad that a cuople broken ribs is all you got! Had 11 Deer and 3 Elk run out in front of me coming down from Lolo Pass Sunday night.... more critters than the last 92,000 mi combined!!!

"Hard" rain in Alamosa each of the last two days and clouds over the san juans tonight at sunset, granted I'm the san juan mountains away but theoretically it should be dropping more on the west side as it rises and releases pressure. I don't want stage 3, it makes me grumpy.

Due to surgery, I'm out. Room at Silverton Hostel available

Due to a surgical procedure mistake that occurred during minor surgery on my hand over the winter, my right arm recently had to have major surgery for nerve damage. I won't be able to ride until Fall at the earliest, consequently, I am out of RMAR for this year.

As a side note, I have reservations at the Silverton Hostel for a room with 2 twin beds. It's a nice basic place. I am canceling the room today so anyone looking for a spot may want to contact them.

I wish you all a great time and safe riding.

Laugh raining in the san juans

It is dumping monsoon rain in the san juans now, so great news for the 2012 RMAR silverton rally.
