First let me say this is a great thread PinkPillion. One I can actually contribute too!
I'm a lookout nut, and what better way to get to them...on our motorcycles. Here's one of the many I shall contribute over time. Me and a buddy rode to the old Packer John lookout. Finding the "use-to-be's" is as fun as finding the one's still standing. ![]() ![]() Even had a nice walkway to it's "outdoor facility"

I recognize the first one...
as Crystal lake in Plumas County. Spent a lot of time up there when I lived in Quincy. Memories came flooding back, Been years since I've been there. Awesome

Horsehoe Pass Lookout, ID. There was a Fire Tower here built on to the rocks behind us but it was burned down years ago. There was a lot of old lumber down the side that we used for this campfire.....best camp of my life with my best buddies......so far

Found some older photos.
Kettle Rock Lookout Station, built first in 1912 and reconstructed in 1920. It is 1100 Ft. above Taylor Lake Located in Plumas National Forest, Elevation = 7833 ft. ![]() The view----Taylor Lake.
