With Randy de Puniet proving himself capable of finishing 4th in the post Valencia tests, on a new to him 800 Suzuki, it could prove to be an amazingly smart move, if Ducati was able to draft him as a developmental rider and A team backup. So much work to be done, this suprising possible turn of events, could prove extremely positive for all involved and is some of best MotoGP news, I've seen in a long time.

Thanks yooperbikemike !

so if Aprilia, Honda, and BMW all have CRT efforts in the pipeline....

then how long until we see a 1098 ducati entry in CRT. And if we don't, then does that further support the belief the WSBK allows twins looser rules and that Checa maybe had some favorable rules for his bike this year?

Max displacement for CRT is 1000cc. Conspiracy theories don't apply.

and if what was posted earlier in the article with the outgoing Suzuki WSBK team manager, Hopper's in for an uphill battle on a nearly 4 year old bike. and I know this is a motogp thread but these 2 series may be more closely related in the future now that we're seeing such similar engines in CRT entries.

When you see these conflicting stories and actions, you just have to wonder next what motivates the teams to state their position as such.

It just doesn't make sense that Haslam did so damn well on a nearly 3 year old Suzuki with little parts or race support from Suzuki, but that Cresent is going to get the full support next year. This is either one party with sour grapes, or another with a raw deal. Regardless, it's still kinda ominous news for road racing in general.
