Also I see others here have been complaining that Jorge is too emotional and Stoner to stoic (generously paraphrased). They've earned the right to react however they want IMO. I can't imagine what they have to go through to get to be the champions they are. Good on them.

You're always in trouble when you go into the race with a bike you haven't ridden. It worked a little bit better than the rest of the weekend, but was nothing special. Karel and Vale were faster than me the first five or six laps, then when their tires went off, I was able to catch and pass Karel and maintain the pace. Was able to hang on to Vale, thought there were a couple of points where I thought I might be able to do something, but he was a lot faster than me in turn 1 over those bumps, I really destroyed the left side of the front tire, and then I ran wide in turn 11, trying to get as close as possible to come up behind him and be ready to pass him and I just got in too hot and had a big moment on the front and had to pick it up and run wide. It's been a really hard weekend, the guys have worked so hard, we've changed everything on the bike to try to be able to calm it down and be able to ride like I hoped, but it hasn't really happened.

It's really hard, because normally I love it. I can remember battling with Valentino for the win here and been on the podium a lot, and today, having to race for 7th and 8th is really frustrating. Need to try to understand why we can't make any progress at the moment.
[QUOTE-Valentino Rossi]
I think the 7th place is what we can do. For sure we are not satisfied, for be more satisfied I have to stay more close to the guy in front and more far from Nicky, but at the end, pfft, doesn't change a lot. Bradl and Bautista make 30.9, 31.0 for the first part of the race, we never did this during the weekend. We don't have nothing. I just try to remain concentrated, not make a mistake and arrive in front of Nicky who stayed with me all the race, and this is the result.

I heard an almost unbelievable stat on the live race broadcast, Stoner has led every lap bar one of every race on PI since 2006.
He owns that place.

Thanks as always for your work David. About time I got a subscription.

Rossi is very firm in his praise of Stoner. And a good point about coming into Yamaha as the 2nd rider and how there is a little less pressure there..

Doesn't look like emotion to me. Looks like staged Drama School 101 nonsense. Tiresome.

I was really pulling for Dani so we wouldn't be subject to another annoying book cover

Didn't Depuniet on a CRT bike out qualify both of the Factory Ducati's? Isn't this the first time that a Factory bike has been out qualified by a CRT? To me that was the most shocking aspect of Ducati's weekend at Philip Island.

That is the real reason Casey threw up in his helmet.

As a big Nicky fan, and not a big fan of Dani, especially after 2006 incident, I let the past be the past and have come around. I have nothing against Jorge, but have been really hoping to see someone give him a run for his money this year. With Stoner out, and Dani getting better race by race..I was rooting for Dani.

But Dani is still Dani..and push too hard, too soon, and you crash out. Maybe next year.
