That s my view anyway
There was a lot of interest in the Edsel but it didn't do anything for Fords reputation....if not careful, Ducati wil get a reputation, but not for something they are proud.

Why am I afraid Preziosi is going to build something like this?

Lack of proper faith.

Me too, but not so much anymore. I have long thought he was the wrong guy to lead the effort, though (Marco Melandri?). Pro sports teams traditionally try new management talent after such an embarrassing debacle. But he's getting another new chance and he seems to be going more conventional. Ducati should be closer to the mark in 2012. Hopefully they can be a force.

I noted after his tests, Checa is lobbying for a new front tire. He seems to blame Bridgestone a lot for the disparity among teams.

Quite frankly: I don't care.

He's had lots of talk, the only thing I want to see from him is results.

My question to you is: What does he have for clout that keeps him on at ducati? Married the boss' daughter?

I'm with you Jim. You can take a year to get data and plant the seeds, but the next year better bear fruit. Valentino is approaching his twilight years, and I doubt that he wants his legacy to end as a data collector for the home team.

Personally, I think Ducati should stick to SBK. It seems directly tied to their performance reputation and sales aspirations. I like the little guy against the machine imagery, but that can play out in SBK as well.

Anyway, I hope they have an excellent season. As always, the proof will be in the results.

I am hopeful for Priziosi. He and his engineers are not dummies. Maybe stubborn, but obviously less so today after such an embarrassing 2011 season. They have made sweeping changes by accepting a more conventional design philosophy. According to Motomatters.com, they have increased adjustability significantly as well. Bridgestone is reportedly doing their part and responding to Loris' demands for a more forgivable front tire. This all sounds promising to me. I don't know what else we can expect of them.

He's still defensive about his CF chassis, but so what?

Anyone else sick of these baby sitter electronics that allow little women to ride what should and used to be wild GP beasts? Now any pint sized wanker like Pedrosa and Stoner can ride a big bike, no worries about throttle control or sliding...our engineers can fix it and make it so easy it's like racing a minibike.

For sure the current Moto GP bikes have a rep for being easy to ride. Just ask Ben Spies, Cal Crutchlow, Ben Bostrom, Roger Hayden, Josh Hayes, and Andrea Iannone. Piece of cake.
