Who takes the performance enhancing substance?
Yeh, something I've been pondering about quite a bit too, is a painkiller performance enhancing ? I reckon it is.
Plenty of racers have used them before a race as well !

But isn't that stuff that Ant West rumoured to have taken also linked to enhancing awareness? Not just weight loss.

Because, in the future, Carmelo can now point and say that they've been showing due diligence.

Yes. And this is one possible reason why West may have used it

Take it up with WADA. The same racer banned for the dietary supplement, may also have had a massive injection of painkillers on a damaged ankle/knee/hand/wrist. The crime is using substances on the banned list without the permission of a qualified medical specialist.

Then again, as many people have pointed out, so much of motorsports seems to revolve around promoting the use of sugary drinks containing stimulants of dubious quality and efficacy.

Topline? You went back to Haga there, didn't you? Because Ant West isn't topline. He's not even 2nd line. He's plenty of hype, not much substance.

Used as an example only, pointing out the hypocrisy of it all, just another reason for me to want to watch golf instead of MotoGP.

Oh my god, did I just write that!!!!

Ant West topline? You bet! He's there, been in the big show, while we sit here pissing and moaning on the interweb. Makes him tops to me.

Sounds good (or at least better than CRT) to me and probably non-factory riders as well.
