I suspect it's a gyro/accelerometer unit. Those are electronics connections, as far as I can see, and it's in the right place for an accelerometer.

My guess would be some sort of AIS( air input sensor) or MAP ( mass air flow sensor). It has two sensor type hook ups and looks like one out put wire going to something. It is out front and down low, avoiding any and all engine/exhaust heat when bike is moving. All the plastic/CF around it is probably to protect in a crash.

Just a guess.

I'd like to see a picture of the other side to see if it is connected to something. It kinda looks like it is. If so it could be an actuator for something. If not my guess would be static air pressure and temperature sensors, but you wouldn't need 3 connectors for that. Accelerometer is also a good guess Krop (inside info there maybe?) Looks like an electronic data connection, a sensor connection and an actuator connection either oil, air or mechanical.

+1 on the gyroscopic lean angle and acceleration sensors.

Fausto Gresini talking about his team: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/839/12...ith-Honda.aspx

Private team that has stayed on the heels of factories, often beating them regardless of their losses. Maximum respect.
