That's what I said, too. If everything goes right, they will be fast towards the end of the year and fight for the title next year.

Seriously, I just thought they'd gone past the cable thing!

Ride on!!!

How many times was this said early in 2011? How many years do Rossi/Ducati get? After all Rossi is a development genius, right?

I'd be interested to see the times for the race simulations run by the top riders. That might be more telling than fastest lap.

Looks to me, as an uneducated observer, that we're likely to see a repeat of last year, at least as far as Honda and Yamaha factory riders battling for the podiums. Tech 3 does look racy as well. Even the Honda satellite bikes are looking decent.

IMHO, Ducati still has not found the answers. I guess I won't have much to cheer about with regard to Nicky. Hope I'm proven wrong.

Sure hate to see Colin languish at the back of the pack.

Let the racing begin.

Nice to be able to turn it up as needed...

A quick review or the analysis sheets at MotoGP.com, shows Stoner reeling off 9 of ten laps in the 1:39's. Didn't see anybody else do that in my scan of the numbers. I think something like 23 of his 60 laps were at 1:39 or better.

Lorenzo, 9 of 84.
Pedrosa, 6 of 73.
Spies, 4 of 61.
Rossi 2 of 90.
Hayden 1 of 91 laps.
Cructhlow 3 of 83.

Stoner and Lorenzo sprinkled their days with 1:39's. Though Stoner goes out and warms up at around two minutes, then drops to 1:39's. The first one coming at lap 7. Nobody else was doing that.
If the test were all about speed, these numbers might indicate something, I think it is just testing. Honda don't need much of that when it comes to Stoner and the bike. They seem to be connected as well as they left off last season.
Spies has said the Yamaha is very balanced, so maybe that is holding true for even the

Business as usual indeed. Rossi was able to get within one second of Stoner. Just.
What I hope the numbers say is that Ducati have found the direction.
I also don't think we'll really know where things lay with the factory teams until a race or two after Qatar.

RDP and the Aprilia are under 2 seconds back. He ran2 laps in 1:40's, of 71 total.

Edwards and the Beemer back not quite 3.5 seconds off Stoner. Better but if they are going to hound the back of the customer factory bikes they need another couple of seconds.
