1972 Ducati 350 Scrambler, traded in at the local dealership with 900miles, windshield and leather saddlebags with fringes.
It lost the shield and the bags within 20 minutes of my ownership.

I really wanted a Norton Manx, but that Ducati was all i could afford washing dishes in a steakhouse/bar as a junior in HS.

My grandfather had a Trail 90. Funny ... but I was the only one who took that thing on trails

After that it was a neighbors YZ80 ...

New 1967 Bridgestone 90 when I was 16, worked that summer in a sawmill and traded it in on a 175 Bridgestone Hurricane Scrambler in August '67. Good, fun, bikes.

Late 60's Ossa 250 with a bad magneto. Got the bike fixed somehow and ran the piss out of it till I could afford a Penton.

AJS 500 cs never knew what year it was, but know know that it was a late short stroke motor. it had jampot shocks and a huge rear sprocket, could lift the front tire shifting into 4th. no muffler no lights no plate and I used it to terrorize the campus police at the college i went to the next year. hard for them to follow me with thier car when I could ride down a staircase the school had lots of narrow sidewalks and woods nearby to hide in if the heat got turned up too high. I had them lock a gate on me once, but they couldn't block the sidewalks and just slowed themselves down trying to chase me. I sold it when I got home from the amy and bought a brand new 71 Honda 750. did a six week 12,000 mile trip from California to Nova Scotia on the Honda. 26 states, 6 provinces in 1973. Recently bought a '53 AJS in a box, hope to get it going before too much longer what a joke!

1974 Kawasaki F7 (175 2 stroke enduro). Bought non-running from a classmate while I was in high school in I think in 1979. Needed a new battery, I was told. Put in a new battery and it started on teh 1st kick!

Howver my dad found out on his test ride that something was wrong, it would struggle it's way up to a 35 mph top speed. I cleaned that carb so may times... Got help from a friend of my dads who worked on smal engines. He suggested the exhaust might be plugged up, so I took off the pipe and took it for a spin. It RIPPED! Mystery solved, I had to take the pipe to the same guy, he cut it in half, burned out all the muffler packing/oil glop that plugged it up, and brazed it back together. I bet you can't find a guy like that any more.

The bike died a few years later when the piston broke on me. I had it bored and rebuilt it, but it never ran the same and I sold it. THat was the funnest bike I ever had. And I've had a few.
