How big is the stock tank? I was only able to fit in about 4 gallons from reserve, and it was pretty full.

Seems like most claim it to be 5.5 gallons or so.. Unless it has a big reserve capacity..

Stock KLR tank volume
Quote:
My findings having run 2 different stock tanks, is that total capacity is 23 litres, 22 of that being useable. 23 litres converts to 6.075 US Gallons. ...your mileage may vary

I think that the most I've ever pumped into it is about 4.7-4.8 gallons. Entirely possible that I'm remembering incorrectly.

+1 on reverse bleeding -- a big syringe from the vet or Farm & Fleet (don't need the neelde) and a length the the right sized tubing will put you in business in no time at all . . . . emply the myster cylinder Reservoir, and push brake fuild from the cvaliper to the master cylinder . . . . 5 minutes (including the beer break) tops.

You can even use a empty plastic mustard bottle (anything plastic with a pointed end)and just push your rubber line on it and squeeze the bottle.

I've pumped 5.9 gallons...
into my 1990 with right at 300 miles on that tank. Would not have wanted to push it any further.
