Just brought her home

She is spanking older 07 klr with 11k kms on the clock. Red with soft bags, and a half screen. Some sweet!

I seriously appreciate how awesome it is to be able to ask a basic question like how to change a light bulb and get great info without feeling like an idiot!
Thanks a lot guys!

Got done with the rear crash bars today only $10 in materials, now on to the front and that reminds me if any of you have the front highway pegs on a pre 07
Can measure up just the square tubing length and size for me, just the tube and not the total length with the pegs, I would appreciate it (1.5" I am guessing)

Funny, I waited and got an 09 several years back and 26,000 miles ago,
but find myself admiring the gen. one's.

Got to have one of each someday me thinks, looks like too much fun to put one together.

Great job on the bars.

DG Exhaust - 2006 KLR

YOYOYO>>>

I am just a fuzz weary about what exhaust I upgrade to.

Is the DG slip-on any louder than stock? A lot louder? Also about the DG, does it fit well? Anyone with a DG that can give ol' SmilinJML some info would be greatly appreciated!

Peace,
JML

GIVI Top Case

Boy did I hit the jackpot with my GIVI B33 Monolock. I am sure glad I don't have to carry all my gear with me on those hot WI summers, nope, just pop open the GIVI and throw it all in there.

FYI... Its tough, pretty inexpensive, looks the part, and turns your KLR into a small real cool scoot.

Anyone else got any good GIVI merchandise on their KLR??

Peace,
JML

A good fart is louder than the stock exhaust. You will find none of the aftermarket cans that aren't considerably louder. You also have to repack them regularly. You can alter the dB levels with different style pickings but if you want close to stock levels and don't want to repack, spend the extra moola on a Staintune. Leo Vince now makes permanent baffles but I have not heard one...

My new Leo Vince is not much louder at all. Deeper sound AND it never needs repacked. They supply the parts to make it loud if thats your thing On 07 and earlier you have to trim a bit of rear fender. Fit was easy other than that.

Ordering a 658 kit from Mike after I get paid this week, then I need to get some solid balancer sprockets and a few other odds and ends... motor needs a re-ring badly, it burns a lot of oil on the freeway and pushes it into the airbox.

Planning to get the Procycle thermostat at the same time, I want the new setup to bed in right and go a lot of miles.
