Rain/wet weather tire

I searched but didn't find any relevant threads for a good tire in the rain. I'm daily commuting on my bike and interested in a high traction tire for the rainy season. Any good shop recommendations? My tires have 17k on them and are getting a bit slippery on the corners.

Not sure what you are riding, but I've been running Conti Trail Attacks on a Tiger, and haven't found a better tire for mileage, cornering, or wet traction.

17k? They must be hard as a rock if they can last that long. I like the Michelin Pilot Road 3 tires for the wet season.

Preparing to get slammed...

I switched to Shinko Ravens and have been very pleasantly surprised with wet grip. Far cheaper than my previous Michelins and wear quite well too. I do 80 miles/day. FWIW, Shinkos are Yokohama rubber. On my budget and considering my main riding is commuting I would rather save the couple hundred bucks a year.

Also, Dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please.

Haven't tried the 005's. I've used the 009's so far and been happy (1 front, 2 rears due to a puncture). I'll give the others a shot the next time.

For the price I definitely don't feel guilty about trying the others out a little earlier.

Got these Avon Av49/50 Azaro on my SV... and boy did these come in handy the past couple days of this "watermelon" express!

However, you won't get 17k out of them

Ummm...this is ADVrider, not PC-land.

It also ain't any problem, other than the one you're making, for the OP to refer to himself that way. He might be someone who sells fine dining ware.

And all the "Asian-Americans" that I grew up preferred to be called Pakes.

True, but it beats falling off. On a wet road in the Coast Range, they're worth their weight in gold.

Someone needs to watch the greatest movie of all time.

Rub your knee so it's not so jerky.
