Ive been bike commuting year round for a while now and have used Tourance EXP's, Shinko's, and TKC80's. I honestly cant tell the wet difference between the three. If you ride like you arent an idiot and have tires in good repair, I really dont think it matters much. YMMV.

I like the Dunlop 616. Sticks well in rain and is kinda cheap.

Tosh, those tires look great, and I'd think they would look cool on a street tracker project I have in mind....I was just amazed at the high price....I mean, gotta admit...$150 for a front is pretty steep.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like .......

...victory.

616 Dunlops were developed from racing rain tires. They work better in the wet than any street tire I've tried.

But we don't know what bike you need tires for, so this may be completely irrelevent.

Those look pretty good for a solid street tire. What do they run?

Usually about $225 US to the door in 120/70 17 F and 180/55 17 R, not sure if they are made in your size. Will admit, they are great wet traction tires; commute 80 miles per day year round on them. . . Range is usually 8-10 k for the rear, 10-12 k for the front. Riding style, weight, load, alll play a part - - would be hard to get 17 k out of either one, but less costly than the Avons. . .

YMWV

All that said, I've got a set of the Michelin PR3's waiting to go on next tire swap - - time for something diferent. ..
