Steve Lavigne is correct!
You climb up Barber Springs and come to that little clearing with the signs saying that you are about to enter the NF. It's sort of a natural place to stop and rest because the Barber Springs grade is usually all torn up so just about everybody pulls over to give their thighs a rest. From there, NF-1701 is the "main road" south to Rt. 410. There are lots of other ways to get there, NF-1720 (Rock Springs Rd) being a popular one. |

I know the lettering in the pic is too small to read. So I'm curious. How did you know this? It's a great building but it looks like so many others from the same era scattered all over the Northwest.
