Anyway, I was hoping this pic would last longer than the 10 minutes my previous one did. I figgered maybe an hour.

Just to recap the hints from above--(1) we rode east on Manastash Rd out of Ellensburg. (2) we turned on Barber Springs Rd then (3) we did not turn onto Manastash Ridge Rd and (4) a little while after taking the pic, we arrived at the intersection of FR 1701, 1714, 1713 and 1712.

One more hint is that Google Maps says that the big intersection of the various 17's is a 12-mile ride from the Mt. Stuart viewpoint where I took the pic.
Was this pic with Norm (is that his name on the TransAlp?) while riding on the 2009 "Sasquatch Ride"?

Norm bought that bike brand new, if I recall......

Steve Lavigne is correct!

You climb up Barber Springs and come to that little clearing with the signs saying that you are about to enter the NF. It's sort of a natural place to stop and rest because the Barber Springs grade is usually all torn up so just about everybody pulls over to give their thighs a rest.

From there, NF-1701 is the "main road" south to Rt. 410. There are lots of other ways to get there, NF-1720 (Rock Springs Rd) being a popular one.

That IS Norm! Sasquatch was in August I think. This was Memorial Day weekend.

Thank you for pretty much explicitly stating where it was.

Hopefully this one won't take so long to solve.

Name the ghost town that is centered about two miles beyond this gate.

I know the lettering in the pic is too small to read. So I'm curious. How did you know this? It's a great building but it looks like so many others from the same era scattered all over the Northwest.

I thought I had been to it in Spokane or Wenatchee or Yakima, but those weren't it.

So, based othe Wa state flag, I did a Google image search for "Wahington State historical courthouse". Scrolled down a bit... And there it was.

What is this thing, and what is this one called?

If you are in these photos, you are not eligible to answer.
