I haven't ridden any on them yet; I suppose they will all be closed now?

A little like Malheur Reservoir on Willow Creek Road West of Huntington [...but I have never seen Brownlee Reservoir..]

Most are closed due to snow...383's end of the Wallowa Mts [Halfway as I remember] gets more snow than the North end..we have 2-5 feet in mts up here and I assume they have a lot more...come back in summer. Or join us at Ollokot for the sled dog races Jan 22..I work there for four days during the race...

It's sorta clean because it's the first part of the ride.

Keep guessing.

Thanks for the invite, but I was thinking of the annual HC get-together in late June.

I can wait out the snow. What I am worried about is the forever closure, the ban-the-public-from-the-public-forest closure.

Yes Still A Possibility

[QUOTE=MortimerSickle;20323958]Thanks for the invite, but I was thinking of the annual HC get-together in late June.

Very real danger. They almost closed over 40% of our dirt roads out here. Hue and Cry is strong over here, but Federal Government besides being deaf, is very immune to civil disobedience and they go by the axiom that "Might Makes Right" or in the case of Wallowa County who's largest employer is the USFS their version of the Golden Rule: "The man with the gold rules" is very significant [huge amounts of fed $$$ for farming and ranching subsidies here]. New Forest Supervisor [WWNF], but I doubt that he will dance to any tune except the one mandated by the current Fed Adm. The lady that was in that position and just "left" ignored real open discussions of issues and never entertained the possibility of going against the "Great Father In DC".

As for HC 'Rally'. I attended the first two which were held in the Snake canyon near Oxbow at the Stromer's place and had fun; up here at the stockade seems to attract a lot of folks who also have fun. But nothing new for me in my backyard and as I get older partying and crowds become things I avoid... I prefer to ride in solitude.

Well, that looks like West Mountain from somewhere near Midvale. So I'm guessing Ben Ross Reservoir.
