BTW, I'm the one taking the photo not the one in the photo.

Here's where we parked while walking around.

Both are behind me, in the photo, but I'm looking for immediately behind me. Like where we are parked in the second photo.

Here's where we staged, less than 15 miles away as the crow flies.

24 hours and not even one WAG..? I'm guessing all of the Oregon riders must be out enjoying the nice weather at the Fort Rock Dualsport.

Just let me know if you want another hint?

IIRC it's the dorm for the workers at the old gold mine which is right behind that building. Don't remember the name of the mine but its up near Big Summit Prairie. I'm away from home for the week and don't have access to my pictures, so won't give any more info. Maybe someone else can get it all right.

Ok I've found a picture I can post while on the road so I'll go ahead and guess:

Independent Mine. I did some reading and it's not a gold mine but a cinnabar par mine where they extracted mercury.

It was Cinnabar they were mining but it is not the Independent mine. I'm looking for the original name of the building.

The Four Horseman Hotel and the Blue Ridge Mine are correct, your up Tim!

Information on the area can be found at Cinnabar mines of Central Oregon and Oregon Mines.

Sector and I stopped in there and explored the entire scene. Just hard to imagine a whole small town was there long ago. Good fishing at the aforementioned camp ground!
