Ha! I used Google Earth and it is amazing how much you can see on there. The shape of the prairie, the moutains and valleys, and the clear cuts on the surrounding hills.

Looks like Craig beat Katy to the punch! You're up.

Another take on the jgg. I remember those TV commercials when I was a kid. Then our family went to Dayton for a wedding and I was excited to see we were IN the valley of the Jolly Green Giant !

I too remember when I first saw the Dayton Jolly Green Giant, my elementary school teams were known as the Greenwood Giants and we had a huge plywood jolly green giant in our gymansium, yet I didn't make the connection of the origin of greenwood's giant until I passed through Dayton on my way to Colfax to visit my Great aunt and uncle in the 60's.

Looks familiar. I'm not sure what lookout that is. My guess is Smith Mountain Lookout.
