Since Vettel is on hards to start, and all the rest are on soft, I wonder if they may try a two stopper with him if he can make two sets of hards last a long time. Horner was talking "two strategies" with the two drivers. Looks like it should be a great race. I'm not sure if I want rain or not .... JC

Spoiler!!
Would you believe:
1. Alonso 2. Perez! 3. Hamilton Just got back to the hotel from the track. Unbelievable race! Predictably, the rain started 7 minutes before the race started. It was great to see Kimi back, some of his 4 wheel drifts in practice and qualifying were truly things of beauty. Perez just picked up two new fans (me and my wife) as he drove an amazing race. Once the race got back underway and everyone changed to inters, he didn't give up any ground. Lap after lap he was closing on Fernando and extending his lead over Lewis and the Red Bulls, a great drive. I've always liked Massa, but it's time for Ferrari to look for a new driver. The difference in car control between he and Alonso is too great - where Alonso was smooth and controlled, Massa was twitching and hunting for control. Button was the disappointment for the day, like Hamilton, he just didn't look motivated and both of them seemed content to cruise around. |

Great ride by Perez but he caught some breaks (as Alonso did also) and it takes a lot more than one race to make a contender, week in and week out. I consider this race a complete fluke and I suspect McLaren and Red Bull will be back to form VERY shortly, while Perez is fighting for P12. He does show a LOT of potential. Of course, so have many in in a race or two. Prime example: Spa 2009 where Force India's Fisichella pushed Ferrari's Raikkonen hard right to the end.

Sergio Perez is the most intelligent driver in F1 since Schumacher.
Gaining steadily on Alonso, out came the team orders not to pass, and Perez beautifully guides his car off course, gives Alonso a 5 second cushion and they both hold their places to the end. That's one smart cookie. ![]() McLaren bungled their way out of win, didn't they? Poor pit stops and also a disastrous loss of control by Button to throw away the lead. Gotta love the rain. Wonder if this will be Ferrari's lone win of the season? The way the team responded, it's as if they think so. At least they get a break from the unbearable pressure for a while. Well, except for Massa. Wow, just heard that Perez was the first Mexican to get a podium since 1971. Great drive. That was fun!

My DVR failed to record it live. Luckily I noticed in time to record the repeat in the afternoon. I knew rain was a possibility so I set it for an extra hour, just in case.

![]() I don't believe it, I think he thought he could win (and may have if he'd kept his cool). shame Speed's afternoonn reply missed vettel's collision that cut his tire. Nice race for Kimi, my only points for fastest lap I think. another non-year for schumi? looks like. At least he's beating his team-mate.
