Ward Burton driving a truck at Daytona? How cool is that?

I guess Daytona is late this year becasue NASCAR was afraid the NFL wouldn't have gotten a labor agreement deal completed to start the season on time.

Sure seems like a long February.......

Yep, he has been pretty good on the plate races. IIRC he has won two 500's and two Dega races. Won the Winston once IIRC, way back in the 90's.

DW was fun...like him or love him or worse, he was an equal opportunity racer.

He won Daytona a second time and the truck race at Daytona last year. Sometimes a good racer comes along at the wrong time and the numbers don't show what a good racer they are...Ward Burton, Mikey Waltrip and others got swallowed up by a phenom known as Jeff Gordon.

I'd rather see Daryl behind the wheel too, just so I don't have to hear his voice anymore.

Ward did pretty good for himself, 24 million in career earnings was a damn good living from driving a car.

He said that the only reason he is driving is to try to get some sponsors for his kid to add some more races for the year. I think they said they had funding for 20 truck races or wanted funding for that many? Oh yeah and his kid isn't licensed to drive at Daytona, but Ward is, that's right, that was the main motivation.
