Hi Boys and Girls,
Picked up my Sertao on Tuesday and I couldn't be happier. It's definitely a long way up for a cruiser rider with short ass legs (I'm only 5'9 but most of that is torso) but I'm only terrified of dropping it when I stop, so there is a very easy solution to that for me :)

Anyway, thought I'd pop by and say g'day.

Looking forward to the customisation process, engine and fairing protection followed by luggage I think.

Stay safe!!

Please be sure to post up any mods you add.
Have fun!

Trading in my Sertao for an F800GS - Selling parts

I'll be transferring most of the add-ons to the new bike and some hard parts such as crash-bars and the bash-plate will stay on the bike, but I'm selling the following:

-Touratech folding gear shifter.
-Touratech adjustable folding gear shifter.
-Touratech Zega pannier racks.
-Touratech radiator guards.
-Touratech headlight guard.
-Touratech folding gear shifter.
-Touratech rear brake cylinder guard.
-Touratech ear brake reservoir guard.
-Rox handlebar raisers
-Touratech GPS windshield mount.
-Kaoko throttle lock.
-Cee Bailey's Tall (18") Windshield.
-SW-Motech Center Stand.
-BMW top case.
-BMW tank-bag.

Please note that these pars are USED with the expected dents and scratches here and there, so I feel that 50% off the original price is fair. I'll consider a multi-item discount too.

You can see the parts here: http://www.responsetech.us/fam/sertaomods.html

Bike keeps getting better

I now have 9000 miles on my new Sertao, bought it in May 2012. All kinds of riding. Lacks on Freeway which I don't like doing anyway and the reason I got rid of the Harley, to get off interstates and stop more often. The bike has about $4000 worth of touratech add ons and I can say I can ride some of the worst dirt tracks with the luggage and not even notice it. My 12 year old has done some two up dual sport rides on it with me too. So I would say I am happy with the purchase. When I first bought it, it definately had a severe starting problem, BMW should recall everyone and fix it. After replaceing the computer and redo the valves it works fine, starts everytime. The bike as it comes from the dealer is not right. BMW needs to do the right thing for all owners early then you will have a happy customer for life. As it should be. thanks.

I would recommend everyone, including you, take it back in for the latest service bullitin for the compression test. This can damage the engine in the long run by scoring the cam shaft.
