It will be interesting to watch how much Michigan has to shift their defense in week 2 when The United States Air Force Academy visits Ann Arbor. May the least penalized team win.

GO FALCONS!!!

I have to say, that was my first thought when I read your query. If it is to be, that would be the option most likely. Lots of things can happen, which is why we watch. Maybe even someone totally unexpected rises to the top this year. Remember the ducks!

Well, it's not going to be this year. Too much talent, as usual, in the SEC.

But, I would LOVE to see one of the SEC teams take on one of the "media darlings" like Boise State in the championship. Talk about a BLOOD BATH.

I think the only way it happens is if the SECE champ upsets the SECW in Atlanta. That's the only circumstance I can see unless Alabama, Arkansas, and lsu end up in a three way tie at the end of the season.

Edit: in my mind, FSU vs USCw shouldn't and couldn't be considered the NCG, even if that means #1 playing #2. If USCw, or any other team wants to win the NC, they have to beat the SEC..

USC has such a history of blowing easy games it's hard to take them seriously. Remember that loss at Oregon State on a Thursday night?

You are right. And I know the Kiffin's are not the most loved ( I do think he stiffed the Vol's badly), but they do know football. It would be silly to discount them from the outset. I do agree, they have lost some silly games and been played too close in several as well that they should be blowing out for bcs ranking in the past. It is going to be interesting.

USC's success or lack there of will come down to defense. If the defense is strong and consistent the team will be there at the end. They are going to put points on the board, just gotta play the other side of the ball.

Key to the season is the defense and the D-line specifically. Coliseum is sold out for Sat home opener against Hawaii..
